Questions about this toolkit
How long does a walkthrough take with this system?
The forms are built for a focused 10–15 minute visit: one focus, one form. The observation page, evidence notes, and tally are designed to be completed in the room or immediately after — not reconstructed at your desk that evening.
Is this an evaluation instrument?
No. It is a documentation and coaching tool for walkthroughs — it does not score teachers, produce ratings, or replace your district's evaluation system. Use it alongside whatever formal evaluation process your district requires, and check those requirements first.
Can instructional coaches and APs use it, or just the principal?
All three. The observer field takes any name and role, the coverage tracker works for a leadership team sharing visits, and the trend tracker rolls everyone's walkthroughs into one school-wide picture.
Is this my district's official form?
No. It is an organizational tool designed to fit common K-12 walkthrough workflows — check your district's requirements, and keep filing whatever official forms your district requires. This system is not legal advice.
